Ella Louise Mortemore

(May 19, 1929 - January 22, 2022)

The family of Ella Mortemore is sad to announce the recent passing of Ella, at the age of 92.

Ella is being missed greatly by her daughter Janis and sons Jim and Richard and their families. She is also fondly missed by her sisters Phyllis, Florence and nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. She was pre-deceased by her siblings John and Marge and nephew John.

Ella was born in Neepawa, Manitoba, and later moved to Alberta where she continued her career as a teacher and school counsellor in the County of Strathcona. She retired to Beaumont and channeled her energies into supporting the community. Ella was instrumental in laying the groundwork for Place Beausejour (a multi-phased senior’s residence) and received a Star of Alberta Volunteer Award.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place, and a family memorial will be held. If you wish, a memorial donation can be made in Ella’s name to the Edmonton Community Foundation.
