Sean Murdock McVeigh

In Loving Memory

September 11, 1956 - October 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sean Murdock McVeigh announce his peaceful passing on October 15th at the age of 67 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters: Ashley (André), Michelle McVeigh; grandson: Charlie Rôme Boissonnault; brother: Dennis (Barbara) McVeigh; niece/nephew: Ryan, Caitlin McVeigh; former spouse/close friend: Francine MacLean as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving parents Peter and Anne McVeigh.

Sean Murdock McVeigh, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, moved to Dominion with his family just before his fourth birthday. He enjoyed the simple pleasures life had to offer. He was happiest floating in the Atlantic Ocean, soaking in the sun’s warm rays and being perfectly content. The island was his happy place filled with childhood memories and adventures. He was a man who wanted nothing more than he needed and he put his family and friends’ happiness above his own, he had a very kind and loving soul. Going home meant spending summers diving in the ocean near the big reef on the hunt for a big ol’ lobster, crab, or clams and rejoicing with childhood friends. He took such pride in his daughters. They were his world, his purpose and his priority. Never a day went by where they didn’t feel his love. To know Sean was to love him. He had an infectious energy that just made you smile. His absence will be felt by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His friends would tell you that no one could light up a room the way he did. He simply put a smile on everyone’s face and a roar in their laughter.

A celebration of life in Edmonton, AB and a funeral in Dominion, NS will be held at a later date.
