Roger Alan Gaskell

19 December 1981 – 23 August 2022

We are saddened to announce Roger’s unexpected death on August 23, 2022.

Roger was a devoted father, husband and son. He was young at heart and an amazing brother, cousin and friend. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to help others where he could.

Left to mourn his loss are his wife Chelsi Sherback, their three children; Alexis, Jessica and Dylan; his mother Susan de Beurs (Lynn Schroter stepfather) and father David Gaskell (Carol), his sisters Nicole Gaskell and Karla Enchill (Peter) and father-in-law Al Sherback and pre-deceased by his mother-in-law Dilys Sherback.

Roger was born in Edmonton and lived on an acreage in Strathcona County. He was a talented man with expertise as a heavy-duty mechanic with Imperial Oil, Kearl Lake. He loved the outdoors; camping, hunting and fishing. Roger was a huge sports fan. He liked to watch and discuss sports with his family and friends. He played minor football up to the Bantam level with the Sherwood Park Rams. Roger also enjoyed being timekeeper for Alexis’s hockey team.

Roger was a strong advocate for organ and tissue donation in Alberta. We are comforted in knowing he was able to change the lives of others.

Roger has been cremated and his family will host a Celebration of Roger’s Life in the near future.
