Don Lucas (1958 - 2023)

With profound sadness, the family of Donald "Don" Craig Michael Lucas announce his peaceful passing on April 13, 2023 at the age of 64 years. Born in Edmonton ,AB on June 29, 1958 to the late Mike Lucas and Marge Kozack, Don was raised throughout western Canada and settled in Strathcona County for his adult years.

After high school Don completed a machinist apprenticeship and started a career that took him to worksites all around the world. His love of all things mechanical had him start with his "Purple Gremlin" and move his affections to his other favorite Ski-doo, Harley Davidson and Jaguar toys.

Don's work ignited a love of travel that allowed him to spend countless days in warm destinations around the world. Don was always grateful to get away with the love of his life LuAnn to Mexico in the winter for a couple months to shake off the cold. When Don was stuck at home during the cold months he would be out spending time with or snowmobiling with his friends. Gatherings with his family and friends were another great passion of Don's. The annual Rib Fest was a can't miss event for everyone over the holidays.

Don was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his partner LuAnn Parker and her children Ian (Kristy) Parker, Allison (Josh) Parker, his mother and stepfather Marge and Joe Kozack, sister Lori (Dwayne) Falk, sister Shelley (Al) Bertschi, brother Todd (Brenda) Lucas, sister Nicole (Marty) Smith and brother Cory (Trisha) Lucas. As well as his niece Rebecca Falk, niece Mackenzie (Adam) Moghrabi, great niece Rowyn Moghrabi, niece Teagan Bertschi, niece Delanie Bertschi, niece Bobbi-Jo Lucas, nephew Eli Lucas and niece Ryn Lucas and together with close friends Cody, Sherry, Jordyn, Brooklynn and Jocelynn Waldroff.

A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Round Hill Community Centre in Round Hill, Alberta on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm.

If you’d like to make a donation in Don’s memory, the Boys and Girls Club was always close to his heart.
